Earth Conscious

What are some things Clean Bee Laundry and Team Temple do to tread lightly?

  • Ozone!
  • The lighting at Clean Bee is energy efficient thanks to Efficiency Maine.
  • We encourage washing in cold water.
  • We use washable rags for cleaning up spills – no paper towels at the Bee!
  • We use nylon bags for commercial and diaper service customers.  These bags can be reused time and again during a customer’s time with us.
  • For wash, dry, fold orders we wash and reuse any appropriate laundry bags. If that’s not possible, we return clean items to customers in a clean plastic bag that can easily be opened and reused. If you are a frequent wash, dry, fold customer, reusable nylon bags are on the house.
  • We offer in-store hanger recycling. Paper and plastic is recycled as well.
  • Our coin op detergents and fabric softeners are earth-friendly and involve minimal packaging.
  • We use both sides of a piece of paper. You’ll find our packaging and invoicing material to be recycled and reused paper. What we can’t reuse, we certainly recycle.
  • We make the most of the miles we must drive. Routes are mapped out to be as efficient as possible. Our delivery vehicles are routinely maintained so we get the best gas mileage possible.
  • Once pre-folds, wipes and doublers are retired from the diaper service, they begin anew as rags.
  • At our home and at the Bee, we make a concerted effort to shop locally and in season. We shop at the Good Tern food co-op, support local CSAs (community supported agriculture) and each year try for a bigger and better garden in our yard, organic of course!
