Bee Good. Bee Sweet. Bake Sale Coming Up!
Clean Bee Laundry and the Temple Family are hosting the third annual bake sale to benefit Safe Passage on Saturday, May 19, 9-11am. The sale will be held in conjunction with sidewalk sale thoughout downtown Camden as a part of the weekend celebration Business is Blooming in Camden.
Liefe and Haydee, ages 9 and 6, sisters and proud supporters of Safe Passage, will bake and price items for the sale and will be on hand to greet customers and help them to a delicious treat. They will also have information about Safe Passage so that people can learn more about the important work done by Safe Passage. They work with their grandmother and many friends to organize this event. Anyone wishing to donate baked goods can email Liefe and Haydee.
“Guatemala is special to me because I was born there,” explains Haydee, a kindergartener at Children’s House Montessori School in Camden. “And when I go back, I like to visit Safe Passage with my family.” The Temples support Safe Passage with many small acts- from bringing toothbrushes in their luggage when they travel to Guatemala to donating the spare change left behind at Clean Bee Laundry to sponsoring a first grade student.
Safe Passage empowers the poorest, at-risk children of families working in the community of the Guatemala City Garbage Dump, by creating opportunities and fostering dignity through the power of education. Safe Passage is a US-registered 501(c)(3) organization. Within a safe and caring environment, Safe Passage provides hundreds of children with a comprehensive and integrated program that fosters hope, good health, educational achievement, self-sufficiency, and confidence.
